  • 6 tablespoons beeswax
  • 4 1/2 tablespoons carrier oil

  • 7 1/2 tablespoons zinc oxide
  • 6 tablespoons arrowroot powder or corn starch
  • 180 drops essential oils I know is a lot :)
  • Deodorant tubes

Instructions

  • In a double boiler, melt the beeswax, shea butter, and carrier oil until all melted.
  • While that is melting, combine the magnesium hydroxide, zinc oxide, and arrowroot powder.
  • Then, add in the essential oils.
  • Add in the powder mixture.
  • Quickly pour into the deodorant tubes before it hardens.
  • Let sit overnight.

Notes

  • Any essential oils work great. This uses a 2% dilution rate.
  • If you’d rather skip the zinc oxide, you can simply add a bit more magnesium hydroxide to your recipe instead. It does a great job at neutralizing odor-causing bacteria without irritating your skin perfect if you have sensitive underarms. You can also try kaolin clay as a gentle alternative that helps absorb moisture and keeps your deodorant soft and smooth.
