Shaving Butter

Make this rich, fluffy shaving butter with natural oils and Castile soap for the smoothest, softest shave ever. This makes 3-4 ounces.  

Materials

  • 2 tablespoons carrier oil
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa butter
  • 1½ tablespoons liquid Castile soap
  • 12 drops essential oils

Instructions

  • In a double boiler, melt the carrier oil, coconut oil, and cocoa butter together over low heat until fully liquid.
  • Remove from heat and let the mixture cool until it starts to firm up, about 20-30 minutes in the fridge.
  • Add your essential oils to the castile soap.
  • Once slightly solid, add the liquid Castile soap and whip with a hand mixer until it becomes light and fluffy.
  • Transfer to a small jar or airtight container.

Notes

It should last about 3-4 months.
If your home is warm, you can refrigerate it to keep the texture firm.
Any carrier oil will work.
Any essential oils you want!
