Vanilla Soap

This homemade vanilla soap is simple, natural, and perfect for beginners. Made with real vanilla beans and a melt-and-pour base, it creates a soft, warm scent and beautiful speckled bars. A quick DIY soap recipe that feels luxurious without being complicated. Makes 2 soap bars.
Yield: 2 bars

Materials

  • ½ lb melt and pour soap base
  • 2 whole vanilla beans
  • 10-15 drops essential oils
  • Soap mold

Instructions

  • Slice each vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape out the vanilla caviar (the tiny black seeds inside). Set both the caviar and the empty pods aside.
  • Cut the melt and pour soap base into small cubes. Add the vanilla caviar and the empty vanilla pods directly into the soap base glass container. Melt slowly using a double boiler or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each round until fully liquid.
  • Let the mixture gently steep for 10-15 minutes on low heat to infuse the scent.
  • Remove the vanilla pods.
  • Stir in 10-15 drops of essential oils, if using.
  • Carefully pour the soap into your silicone mold. Lightly spray with rubbing alcohol to remove bubbles if needed.
  • Let the soap fully harden for 2-4 hours, then unmold and enjoy.

Notes

  • This soap has a soft natural vanilla aroma, essential oils help strengthen the scent.
  • Vanilla will naturally darken soap over time (this is normal).
  • Store cured bars in a cool, dry place.
