Vanilla Soap
This homemade vanilla soap is simple, natural, and perfect for beginners. Made with real vanilla beans and a melt-and-pour base, it creates a soft, warm scent and beautiful speckled bars. A quick DIY soap recipe that feels luxurious without being complicated. Makes 2 soap bars.
Yield: 2 bars
- ½ lb melt and pour soap base
- 2 whole vanilla beans
- 10-15 drops essential oils
- Soap mold
Slice each vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape out the vanilla caviar (the tiny black seeds inside). Set both the caviar and the empty pods aside.
Cut the melt and pour soap base into small cubes. Add the vanilla caviar and the empty vanilla pods directly into the soap base glass container. Melt slowly using a double boiler or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each round until fully liquid.
Let the mixture gently steep for 10-15 minutes on low heat to infuse the scent.
Remove the vanilla pods.
Stir in 10-15 drops of essential oils, if using.
Carefully pour the soap into your silicone mold. Lightly spray with rubbing alcohol to remove bubbles if needed.
Let the soap fully harden for 2-4 hours, then unmold and enjoy.
- This soap has a soft natural vanilla aroma, essential oils help strengthen the scent.
- Vanilla will naturally darken soap over time (this is normal).
- Store cured bars in a cool, dry place.
