Cocoa Lip Balm
This homemade cocoa lip balm smells like rich chocolate and leaves your lips soft, glossy, and deeply moisturized. Made with natural oils, beeswax, and cocoa butter it’s an easy DIY perfect for gifts or everyday use!
- 1 tablespoon castor oil
- 1 tablespoon jojoba oil
- 1/2 teaspoon cocoa butter
- 1½ tablespoons beeswax
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1/2 teaspoon cocoa powder
- 10 –15 drops essential oil 0.5–1%
In a double boiler, combine the beeswax, coconut oil, cocoa butter, castor oil, cocoa powder, and jojoba oil. Heat gently until fully melted and smooth.
Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool for 1-2 minutes.
Stir in your essential oils, if using.
Quickly pour into lip balm tubes or small tins before it begins to harden.
Let sit at room temperature (or refrigerate) until firm.
Keep in a cool, dry place. Use within 6 months.
- Any carrier oil works, I used jojoba oil.
Essential Oil Ideas:
- Peppermint Cocoa: 8 drops peppermint, 2 drops vanilla oleoresin
- Orange Chocolate: 10 drops sweet orange, 3 drops vanilla oleoresin
- Vanilla Mocha: 8 drops vanilla oleoresin, 3 drops coffee essential oil (or CO₂ extract)
