Homemade Lavender Syrup
Print Recipe
This homemade lavender syrup is sweet, floral, and super easy to make. Use it to add a cozy twist to your lattes, teas, lemonades, and more!
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 tbsp food-grade lavender buds
- A few drops of food coloring optional
Add the sugar, water, and salt to a small saucepan.
Stir over medium heat until the sugar fully dissolves.
Add the lavender buds and let the mixture simmer for about 30 minutes.
Strain out the lavender buds using a fine mesh strainer.
If using food coloring, add a drop or two until you reach your desired shade. (I used red and blue)
Let the syrup cool completely, then pour it into a clean jar or bottle and refrigerate.
- Try it in lemonade, lattes, iced tea, or cocktails!
- Make sure you're using lavender specifically labeled for culinary use. This is super important for both flavor and safety.
- Store your lavender syrup in a clean, airtight jar or bottle in the fridge. It should last about 1–2 weeks.
- A drop or two of food coloring is enough! You can mix red and blue to get that soft lavender shade, or skip it entirely if you prefer it natural.
