Homemade Natural Color-Safe Bleach

A simple, non-toxic color-safe bleach that brightens clothes and removes odors using just hydrogen peroxide, water, and essential oils. Perfect for sensitive skin and everyday laundry.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups hydrogen peroxide 3%
  • 1.5 cups distilled water or soft tap water
  • 20 drops essential oil optional – lavender, lemon, or orange

Instructions

  • Measure your bottle to see how much liquid it holds. This recipe uses a 50/50 ratio of hydrogen peroxide and water.
  • Pour 1.5 cups hydrogen peroxide into a measuring cup.
  • Add about 20 drops essential oil to the peroxide and mix.
  • Pour the mixture into your bottle.
  • Add 1.5 cups distilled water (or boiled and cooled water).
  • Place the cap on the bottle and gently swirl to combine.
  • Use 1/2 cup per load of laundry, poured directly over your clothes before washing.

Notes

  • Works wonderfully for brightening colors and removing odors.
  • Great for households with sweaty gym clothes.
  • If your tap water is hard, use distilled or boiled water.
