Print Recipe
This homemade oat milk recipe is quick, easy, and naturally delicious! With just a few simple ingredients, you can make dairy-free milk that's perfect for coffee, smoothies, or drinking on its own. Plus, it's free from unnecessary additives and customizable to your taste!

Equipment

  • Fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth

Ingredients

  • 1 cup oats
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Combine the oats, water, honey, vanilla, and salt in a blender. Blend for 20 seconds, avoid over-blending to prevent gumminess.
  • Strain the milk through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a large bowl. Avoid pressing the pulp to keep the texture smooth and creamy.
For a smoother texture, strain the oat milk a second time to remove any remaining oats and ensure it's nice and milky.
  • Taste and add more honey or vanilla extract if desired.
  • Transfer to a jar and chill overnight for the best flavor.
  • If drinking immediately, serve over ice for a refreshing taste.

Notes

  • I like sweet milk, so I added a little vanilla syrup, feel free to adjust to your taste!
  • For a creamier texture, try using less water.
  • Shake well before each use, as natural separation occurs.
