Equipment
Fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth
Ingredients
1cupoats
4cupscold water
1pinchof salt
1tbsphoney
2tspvanilla extract
Instructions
Combine the oats, water, honey, vanilla, and salt in a blender. Blend for 20 seconds, avoid over-blending to prevent gumminess.
Strain the milk through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a large bowl. Avoid pressing the pulp to keep the texture smooth and creamy. For a smoother texture, strain the oat milk a second time to remove any remaining oats and ensure it's nice and milky.
Taste and add more honey or vanilla extract if desired.
Transfer to a jar and chill overnight for the best flavor.
If drinking immediately, serve over ice for a refreshing taste.
Notes
I like sweet milk, so I added a little vanilla syrup, feel free to adjust to your taste!
For a creamier texture, try using less water.
Shake well before each use, as natural separation occurs.
