Lavender Eye Pillow
Super easy DIY lavender eye pillows. They help soothe tired eyes and melt away stress. You can make them by sewing or using fabric tape, Plus, they make beautiful, handmade gifts!
- 1 cup Lavender
- 1 cup rice
- 8 drops Lavender essential oil
- 1/4 yard fabric
- Fabric scissors
Cut two pieces of fabric for each pillow, each measuring 4.5 inches by 10.5 inches.
Layer the fabric pieces together with the right sides facing out (so the design shows on both sides). Sew along one long edge and continue sewing around the other sides with a 1/4-inch seam allowance, leaving a small hole in one short end open.
In a bowl, mix together the lavender buds, rice, and a few drops of lavender essential oil.
Fill the pillow with the mixture until it’s mostly full. I used a funnel to help it go in with ease.
Sew the open end closed to finish your pillow.
No-sew method:
Place fabric pieces right sides together. Apply fabric tape along three sides, leaving one short edge open. Iron over the tape to secure it.
Fill pillow with lavender-rice mixture.
Use fabric tape to seal the open edge and iron it to secure.
- You can also use flax seeds if you prefer.
- I made 4 pillows and used 3 cups lavender, 3 cups rice, and 24 drops essential oil and it turned out perfect.
- I used fabric from Hobby Lobby
