This Natural Onion Honey Cough Syrup is a simple, homemade recipe that’s perfect for those chilly, flu-season days!
Ingredients
Honey
Red Onion
Ginger
Lemon
Glass Container
Instructions
Cut up the ginger, red onion, and lemon in slices. Peels can be kept on.
In a small glass jar, add the onion, ginger, and lemon in layers, enough to fill almost the entire jar (about 3/4).
Pour the honey on top to completely cover everything. Make sure to let it slowly cover everything. Use a knife to make sure all the air bubbles are out.
Cover with the lid.
Every day, open and stir the honey.
After 3 days, the honey should be more liquid, strain and keep in the fridge.
Notes
To Use: Add a spoonful of this honey to tea, eat a spoonful, etc. This will help with coughs and sore throats.
