Press Dried Flowers Candle

A beautiful DIY candle made with dried flowers and non-toxic ingredients, perfect for gifts or cozy home decor.

Materials

  • Sparkle Mod Podge I got mine from Amazon
  • Paintbrush
  • Precision Tweezers mine came with the flowers
  • Dried flowers I got mine from Amazon
  • Candle jar such as a mason jar
  • Beeswax about 1 lb, depending on jar size
  • Candle wick
  • Hot glue gun or candle wick stickers
  • Essential oils optional

Instructions

  • Attach the candle wick to the center of the jar using a heat gun or candle dot stickers.
  • Using a paintbrush, apply Sparkle Mod Podge to the inside of the jar. With tweezers, carefully place dried flowers onto the jar, pressing them gently into the Mod Podge. Continue adding flowers and layering with more Mod Podge until the jar is decorated to your liking.
  • Once you're happy with the flower placement, apply a final coat of Mod Podge over the entire jar to seal it. Let it dry completely.
  • In a double boiler, melt the beeswax. The amount needed depends on the size of your jar, but I used approximately 1 lb. If desired, stir in a few drops of essential oils for fragrance.
  • Carefully pour the melted beeswax into the jar, making sure the wick stays centered. Allow it to cool and harden completely before using.

Notes

  • You can use regular Mod Podge, I used the sparkle version because I love a little glitter.
  • For the candle wick, you can use a regular wick as well. I tried a wood wick for a bit of extra charm, but I’m just not a fan of them.
