There’s just something so calming and magical about dried flowers especially when you use them to make a pressed dried flower candle like I did. This pressed flower candle might just be my favorite yet. It’s beautiful, natural, and surprisingly easy to make even if you’ve never made candles before.

I used the glittery version of Mod Podge to seal the flowers. You can use the regular one too, but I personally love that subtle shimmer when the candle catches the light.

This DIY is perfect for gifting, decorating your space, or just as a fun little project. You can use real dried flowers you’ve pressed yourself or buy some pre-pressed online, whatever works for you! Either way, the final result is a dreamy, nature-inspired candle that is trully one-of-a-kind.

So if you’re looking for a pretty and relaxing project that also happens to make your home smell amazing, this DIY press dried flower candle is the perfect one. I really enjoyed it

If I’m being honest, I wasn’t sure if this project was going to work out. Believe or not, I’m not exactly the arts-and-crafts type of girl when it comes to things like this (I wish) but I saw gorgeous pressed flower candles on Pinterest and figured, why not give it a try? I went in with zero expectations, and to my surprise, it turned out pretty. This might be one of my favorite DIYs yet.

Pressed Dried Flower Candle:

Ingredients:

FIY: As you can see, my pressed flowers came with some gorgeous little butterflies, and I was so excited to add them to my candle. turns out, they just wouldn’t stick no matter what I tried.

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Wick:

Attach the candle wick to the center of the jar using a heat gun or candle dot stickers.

2. Apply the Flowers:

Using a paintbrush, apply Sparkle Mod Podge to the inside of the jar. With tweezers, carefully place dried flowers onto the jar, pressing them gently into the Mod Podge. Continue adding flowers and layering with more Mod Podge until the jar is decorated to your liking.

Want to save this for later?

Send it to yourself now and try it out when you’re ready!

3. Seal and Dry:

Once you’re happy with the flower placement, apply a final coat of Mod Podge over the entire jar to seal it. Let it dry completely.

4. Melt the Beeswax:

In a double boiler, melt the beeswax. The amount needed depends on the size of your jar, but I used approximately 1 lb.

5. Add Essential Oils

Stir in a few drops of essential oils for fragrance.

5. Pour and Set:

Carefully pour the melted beeswax into the jar, making sure the wick stays centered. Allow it to cool and harden completely.

Notes:

  • You can use regular Mod Podge, I used the sparkle version because I love a little glitter!
  • For the candle wick, you can use a regular wick as well. I tried a wood wick for a bit of extra charm, but I’m just not a fan of them.
