Tallow Foundation
This creamy tallow foundation is rich, nourishing, and easy to customize to your perfect shade plus it takes less than 15 minutes to make. This recipe makes between 5-6 ounces.
Materials
- 1/4 cup melted tallow
- 1 tablespoon carrier oil
- 15 drops essential oil optional
- 1/4 teaspoon mica powder adjust for shade
- 1-2 teaspoons non-nano zinc oxide
Instructions
- Melt the tallow slowly until just melted. Remove from heat and allow it to cool slightly.
- While still liquid, add the carrier oil, essential oils, and zinc oxide.
- Add the mica powder a small amount at a time, mixing well until you reach your desired shade.
- Whip the mixture with a hand mixer until it becomes lighter and fluffy. Transfer to a container and allow it to fully set before using.
Notes
- Any essential oils will work.
- If the mixture begins to solidify before whipping, gently rewarm it until just melted again.
- Store in a clean, airtight container at room temperature. It will last about 6-12 months.
