Whipped Tallow Honey Balm
This whipped tallow body balm hydrates and softens your skin, leaving it smooth without the greasy feel. The light texture absorbs quickly, providing long-lasting moisture with a hint of natural essential oils.
- 1/2 cup cup tallow
- 1 tbsp raw honey
- 1 tbsp avocado oil or any carrier oil
- 1 tbsp shea butter
- Vitamin E oil a few drops
- 10 drops essential oils optional
In a double boiler, combine the tallow, shea butter, and carrier oil (avocado oil). Melt over low to medium heat, avoiding high heat to preserve the ingredients.
Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the raw honey.
Add a few drops of Vitamin E oil for extra skin nourishment.
If you're using essential oils, add 10 drops of your choice (like lavender, tea tree, or chamomile) for a soothing scent and added skin benefits.
To get that light, whipped texture, first place the mixture in the fridge for about 30 minutes to cool slightly. Then, grab a hand mixer and whip the mixture for a few minutes until it becomes nice and fluffy.
- Since this recipe doesn’t contain water, it has a longer shelf life up to 6 months when stored in a cool, dry place.
