Winter Hand Cream
This makes between 4-5 ounces.
- 1/4 cup tallow grass-fed if possible
- 1/4 cup cocoa butter
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 2 tablespoons carrier oil like jojoba almond, or olive oil
- 1/2 tablespoon arrowroot powder
- 8 drops essential oils optional
In a double boiler, melt down the tallow, cocoa butter, and coconut oil together. Stir gently until everything is fully liquid.
Remove and let harden in the freezer for about 30 minutes or so.
Add in your essential oils to the carrier oil.
Whip the harden mixture until light and fluffy.
Slowly add in the carrier oil.
Finally add in the arrowroot powder and mix one more time.
- Essential oils are optional, but lavender, frankincense, and helichrysum essential oil are great options.
- Corn starch can be used instead of arrowroot powder.
- Shea butter can be used instead of cocoa butter.
