I just love this time of year—rainy days, cozy outfits, soft lighting, and snuggling up with my dogs!. There is really nothing better than to start the day with the perfect winter morning routine.
I have to admit that I started getting obsessed with the idea of having a winter morning routine or just a morning routine in general, after reading “The Miracle Morning” and “Good Morning Good Life“. Now I have a lot to say about my winter morning routine and tips on how to make your days more productive, even when it’s raining outside and you don’t feel like getting out of bed.

HATCH
Hatch Restore 2
If your phone alarm looks like this, you really need a Hatch alarm clock. I know it’s an investment, but totally worth it! Add it to your Christmas wishlist so you won’t have to buy it yourself.
THE DAILEE
Planner
I’ve been using The Dailee planner since it first came out, and I still swear by it for my productive winter morning routine.
How to Create the Perfect Winter Morning Routine
6-9 am is my morning routine and it’s my special time to focus on myself—taking care of my body, mind, and spirit so I can be ready for the day. I like to add little rituals to celebrate each season: A caramel latte for those chilly winter mornings, lighting a cozy candle and snuggling with my dogs, help me appreciate the present and get ready for whatever the day brings.
Winter Morning Routine List
Cold winter mornings can make getting out of bed feel like an impossible task. But with a well-planned morning routine, you can start your day feeling warm, energized, and ready for whatever the day throws at you.
Whether your goal is to stay cozy, be more productive, or simply make mornings a little better. Let me share my step-by-step morning routine to help you romanticize this holiday season!.
1. Wake Up with Natural Light
Winter means shorter days, so waking up to natural light can be a challenge. Investing in the Hatch alarm clock which mimics natural light and gradually wakes you up can make all the difference. The Hatch also has customizable sounds and a sunrise simulator to help ease you into your day
If you don’t want to invest on an alarm clock, I totally get it! Try using a little warm light lamp to make your mornings more pleasant and romantic. There’s nothing worse than waking up and having to switch on those harsh, bright lights!
2. Cozy Up in Warm Layers
Keep a warm robe or cozy blanket close by to wrap yourself in as soon as you get out of bed. This small act can make the transition from bed to breakfast much more pleasant, especially when it’s freezing outside. Fuzzy socks are also must!
You can also use a plus sherpa robe to keep yourself warm as you go about your morning routine.
3. Hydrate First
If you are anything like me you crave coffee right away, but start your morning with a glass of water (bonus points if you add a squeeze of lemon).
4. Make Breakfast
Think oatmeal topped with cinnamon and fresh fruit or eggs with avocado on toast.
5. Enjoy Your Coffee
To make your coffee or hot drink even more romantic, try using some cute festive mugs, add lots of foam, drizzle on some sauces, and top it off with seasonal flavors.
6. Take Some Minutes for Gratitude or Reading
Winter mornings are the perfect time for a little mindfulness. Take a few minutes to journal about what you’re grateful for or to read an inspiring book. This intentional start will positively shape your mindset for the rest of the day, even if it’s gray and chilly outside..
7. Plan Your Day
I love using The Dailee Planner to block out my time and write down my to-do list.
Spend a few minutes reviewing your schedule and writing down your priorities for the day. Do this with your coffee in hand, wrapped in a blanket, or by the fireplace—adding warmth to productivity makes it feel less like a chore and more like a moment to look forward to.
8. Treat Yourself to a Winter Skincare Routine
Winter air can be rough on your skin, so take a little extra time in the morning to care for it. I like to do my skincare routine right after a hot shower. I just started using the Rhode Daily Skincare Essentials, and I’m really liking it so far!
Use a hydrating cleanser, apply a rich moisturizer, and don’t forget sunscreen—even on cloudy winter days.
9. Move Your Body
If you’ve got a bit of time, try to squeeze in some morning exercise, like pilates or using an app like Obe Fitness or Daily Burn before you start the day.
10. Get Ready for The Day
I get it—it’s easier said than done, especially when you work from home like me. But there’s just something about getting ready and looking good that changes how you feel. I like to keep it simple—just a bit of blush and lipstick with a cozy outfit can make all the difference.
Honestly, the secret to a good winter morning is finding what works best for you. Experiment with these steps to craft a routine that feels aesthetic, warm, productive, and fulfilling. With a little preparation, your mornings can go from dreary and cold to cozy and energizing.
