I understand you’re probably feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the stuff you have and wondering if it’s even possible to declutter a room quickly, right?

From my own experience, I gotta say, the best way to start decluttering is by doing it in short periods. Otherwise, you can easily get super overwhelmed and end up procrastinating.

Here’s how you can declutter a room in just 30 minutes, step by step, to make your life a whole lot easier.

How to Declutter a Room in 30 Minutes

Step 1: Set a timer for 30 minutes.

I mean, this step is pretty obvious, right?

Step 2: Grab two big trash bags and start grabbing stuff (15minutes)

Alright, now grab two big trash bags – one for trash and another one for donations. Start walking around the room, opening drawers, and just grabbing stuff you don’t want. Toss ’em in the donation bag, and do the same for trash.

The thing is, don’t overthink it! The biggest issue with hoarders is their attachment to belongings, even if they don’t need them.

Hoarders just spend way too much time thinking about it, which is why they never let go. DON’T DO THIS!

Just keep this simple rule in mind: if you can easily replace it in the future, then you can let it go.

Step 3: Clean and Organize (15minutes)

If you’ve consciously decluttered, chances are you’ve got a bunch of stuff in your bags now and are all set to tidy up the rest of the room and get things organized.

Depending on how much stuff you have left, you might not be able to organize and clean everything in just 15 minutes. But hey, remember the goal here was to declutter a room in 30 minutes and guess what? You just did it!

Now, just spend the remaining time cleaning up and trying to find a spot for everything in the room.

You can repeat this decluttering process once a week or once a month to keep your space organized and clutter-free.

Additionally, consider implementing some storage solutions such as baskets, bins, and shelves to help maintain an organized space.

Here are my favorite baskets from Amazon to help keep your home organized and clutter-free:

These versatile storage baskets can be used in any room of the house.

Use them in the living room to store blankets, pillows, or toys. In the bedroom, use them for extra clothes or accessories.

They also work great in the bathroom for storing towels or toiletries.
