Also known as the Lady cave, Girl Cave, She Shed or Babe Cave, a woman cave is a space designed specifically for woman to relax, unwind and enjoy some much needed “me” time. It’s the perfect place to escape the chaos of daily life and indulge in your favorite activities.

Two years ago, I made a deal with my husband that once we upgraded to a larger house, he could have his man cave. To this day, his man cave is the only part of our home that doesn’t quite match the decor of the house – lol! I find myself sometimes envying his room and thinking of having my own woman cave.

That’s why I put together some inspiration and this guide, not just for me but also for you if you’re considering creating a woman cave too!

I know when it comes to designing your woman cave things like budget and space can be a concern, but don’t worry, with a little creativity and some inspiration, you can create the perfect woman cave in any space.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

Woman Cave Ideas

1. She Shed Sanctuary:

Shesheds are getting really popular and can give you that perfect space for a woman cave. You can use it for anything you want, whether it’s a craft room or an office space.

Shesheds are a great way to have your own personal retreat without having to leave the comfort of your home.

2. Attic Retreat:

Inspiration source

When I hear “attic,” it reminds me of horror movies, but seriously, how cute is this space? Plus, you can totally recreate it on a budget.

The key to this decor is to add some string lights, a love neon sign, an array of decorative throw pillows in various shapes and sizes, and some chunky knit throw blankets on top of an air mattress or a tri-fold memory foam mattress.

3. Under-Stair Hideaway:

Inspiration source

While it may seem like wasted space, the area under your stairs can actually be transformed into a cozy reading nook. And the best part? You don’t need to hire a professional or spend tons of money to make it happen.

With some basic carpentry skills and a few materials, you can easily build a cozy woman cave there.

6. Unused Bedroom Transformation:

There’s just something about lying on the floor that makes it super relaxing and cozy.

If you don’t have the budget right now to splurge on an air mattress or bed, just throw down a comforter or pad, add a cute rug, a soft lamp, and some greenery – voilà, you’ve got yourself the perfect woman cave!

7. Minimalist Woman Cave

This woman cave is just perfect because it doesn’t take up much space and is so minimalist, it really sets the mood for relaxation.

You could toss in a cute bookshelf with your fave books, a cozy blanket, some art, and a nice rug.

You could also consider adding a small side table with a lamp for some ambient lighting while you curl up with your coffee and book.

8. Cozy corner with chair

Even if you don’t have a whole room, you can totally set up a little corner as your own woman cave and make it super cozy and relaxing.

The trick is to throw in some greenery, string lights, and a super cozy sofa with pillows and blankets.

Another great idea if you don’t have a lot of space in your house is converting your balcony into a woman cave . You can turn it into a cozy and private space where you can relax, read a book, or do some yoga. This is also a perfect place to have your morning coffee and enjoy the fresh air.

Just remember, since it’s outdoors, you’ll want some outdoor furniture and decor.

One of the easiest ways to convert your balcony into a woman cave is by adding comfortable seating. A small bistro set or even a comfy outdoor lounge chair will instantly transform your balcony into an nice space for relaxation. Add some cushions and throw pillows to make it feel extra cozy.

Lighting is another important aspect when it comes to creating an inviting woman cave on your balcony. Consider some outdoor string lights or lanterns to create a warm and cozy atmosphere. You can also add some candles for a touch of ambiance.

10. Divide and Conquer

6. Accent Chairs:

Create a cozy reading nook or seating area with comfortable accent chairs.

How to create a woman cave in your house

You don’t need to splurge on this project. Like I mentioned earlier, just revamp areas in your home – a corner, balcony, shed, or attic – to create your perfect woman cave.

Consider the overall atmosphere of your woman cave. Do you want it to be bright and energetic or calm and soothing? Choose colors and decor that reflect the mood you want to create.

Make sure to include storage for all of your essentials, whether it’s books, craft supplies or workout equipment.

You can create a cozy reading nook, a craft room, a yoga sanctuary or even a home spa.

Choose a color scheme that makes you feel calm and relaxed. Soft light colors like ivory, light pink, lavender or light grey are great options. You can also add pops of color with throw pillows or wall art to add some personality.

Focus on adding comfortable seating and soft textures. A plush armchair with a faux fur throw blanket or a chaise lounge with soft velvet cushions can create the perfect spot for relaxation.
