I’m all about trying DIY natural recipes that are good for your home, skin, and hair, without harmful chemicals, and budget-friendly. This green tea face mask? It’s one of my favorites!
Green Tea Face Mask Benefits
Have you noticed how everyone’s totally obsessed with matcha lately? It’s not just about those green lattes anymore—matcha is everywhere! Desserts, skincare, you name it. Honestly, I get the hype!. Matcha is packed with so many benefits. Whether you’re drinking it or using it in products, it’s one of those ingredients that does it all and looks good doing it.
Matcha helps clear up your skin, reduce redness. It’s also super soothing and detoxifying. Matcha is more than just a trend at this point; it’s a full-on lifestyle.(I’m not a doctor, but feel free to look into it yourself too!)
This recipe creates about 6 ounces of Tea Face Mask/Cream. It’s so easy to make, and you’ll feel like you’ve brought the spa right to your home!
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon matcha powder (the star ingredient for that green tea glow 🌿)
- ¼ cup coconut oil (for hydration and nourishment)
- 4 tablespoons shea butter (hello, smooth skin!)
- 1 tablespoon carrier oil (I used an herbal-infused grapeseed oil, but any carrier oil will work)
- 10-15 drops of essential oils (optional)
- Glass jar (You can buy a cheap one at the Dollar Tree!)
Instructions
1. Melt the base:
Grab a double boiler (or improvise with a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water). Melt the coconut oil and shea butter together until they’re completely liquid.
2. Mix in the matcha:
Remove the mixture from heat and stir in the matcha powder. Stir until it’s fully dissolved—your mask will turn a beautiful green shade!
3. Blend in the carrier oil:
Add your choice of carrier oil and mix it all together. Herbal-infused grapeseed oil works beautifully, but feel free to use what you have.
4. Cool and whip it up:
Let the mixture cool on the counter. Don’t rush it by putting it in the fridge! Once it starts to solidify but is still soft, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to whip it until fluffy.
5. Add essential oils (optional):
If you’re using essential oils, now’s the time to stir in those 10-15 drops. Transfer your whipped mask into a glass jar, and you’re done!
Tips:
- Essential oils are totally optional, skip them if you prefer your mask unscented.
- Be patient with the cooling process. Letting it cool naturally on the counter helps maintain the perfect texture.
- Experiment with different carrier oils to customize your mask!
Enjoy pampering your skin with this all-natural, non-toxic DIY Green Tea Face Mask recipe. Let me know how it turns out! 😊
