Okay, I think this blog should be called She Needs Simmer Pots because I’m obsessed with making them, lol. Seriously, they’re so easy to put together and make your whole house smell amazing. This fruity simmer pot is one of my favorites, it’s fresh, sweet, and citrusy.

If this is your first time making simmer pots, I’m glad this is your first one because you’re about to fall in love with how simple and satisfying it is. I’ve made a few other simmer pots before, like the signature copycat Williams Sonoma simmer pot and other floral blends. Trust me, once you start, you’ll be hooked! 😅

Why I Love Simmer Pots:

I started making simmer pots because I wanted a non-toxic way to make my house smell good without candles or artificial sprays. Now it’s a whole vibe especially when I’m cleaning, working from home, or just relaxing with my dogs.

When to Use a Simmer Pot:

  • When you want a little mood boost (citrus is so uplifting)
  • When guests are coming over
  • During spring or summer cleaning
  • On a cozy weekend at home
  • To replace candles or air fresheners (especially if you’re sensitive to synthetic scents like me!)

Fruity Simmer Pot Recipe:

I have an orange and lemon tree at home, and I had a few berries that were getting ripe, so that’s what I used, but feel free to use whatever fruits you have on hand!

Ingredients

  • 3 strawberries, sliced
  • Handful of blueberries
  • 1/2 orange, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1/2 grapefruit, sliced
  • 4-6 cups of water
  • Simmer pot

Instructions:

1. Prep the Fruit:

First, slice up your strawberries, orange, lemon, and grapefruit. Toss them all into your simmer pot, along with a handful of blueberries.

You can also use raspberries, apple slices, or even pineapple chunks. Basically, if it smells good and you like it toss it in!

Want to save this for later?

Send it to yourself now and try it out when you’re ready!

2. Add the Water

Now, pour enough water to cover all the fruit.

3. Optional: Add Extra Scent

I like to add a splash of vanilla extract or a few drops of pure essential oils to my simmer pots. It’s totally optional. I get all my essential oils from Simply Earth because I actually feel like I can trust what’s in them plus, they smell amazing and last forever.

4. Simmer & Enjoy

Set your pot to simmer on low heat. Keep an eye on it, and add more water as needed to keep the scent going. The smell will start filling your house in no time, and you’ll be wondering why you haven’t done this sooner!

You can also do this in a small crockpot! Just set it on low and let the fruity vibes flow all day long.

Now, sit back and relax as the sweet fruity aroma fills your home. It’s the perfect cozy, fresh vibe, especially when you’re having friends over or just chilling on your own. Enjoy!

Can You Reuse Simmer Pots?

Yes, you can reuse the same simmer pot for 1–2 days! Just store it in the fridge overnight and reheat the next day with a splash of fresh water.

Once you’re done with your simmer pot, you can compost the fruits (or toss them in your green bin if you have one).

If you want to prep ahead, freeze your leftover fruits or fruits that are a little too ripe. They’re perfect for simmer pots and won’t go to waste!
