This lavender tallow face scrub is one of my favorite simple skincare recipes. It gently exfoliates while nourishing the skin, and the lavender makes it feel like a little spa moment at home.
One of the things I like most about this scrub is how simple and natural the ingredients are. Oatmeal and rice flour provide gentle exfoliation, while the tallow helps moisturize the skin so it doesn’t feel dry afterward.
Lavender adds a calming touch and a soft natural scent that makes the whole experience feel relaxing. It’s the kind of scrub that feels both effective and soothing at the same time.

I also love that this recipe is easy to make in just a few minutes. If you enjoy simple DIY skincare, this is one of those recipes that quickly becomes a favorite.
Lavender Tallow Face Scrub Recipe
This recipe makes about 8–10 ounces
Ingredients
- 5 tablespoons oatmeal
- 4 tablespoons tallow
- 5 tablespoons dried lavender
- 5 tablespoons rice flour
- 10 drops lavender essential oil

Instructions
1. Grind the oatmeal and lavender
Using a clean coffee grinder or high-speed blender, grind the oatmeal and lavender into a fine powder. This helps create a gentle exfoliating texture that won’t scratch the skin.
Set aside.

2. Mix the dry ingredients
In a clean bowl, combine the oatmeal powder, lavender powder, and rice flour. Mix thoroughly so the ingredients are evenly distributed.

3. Melt the tallow and add the essential oils
Gently melt the tallow until it becomes liquid. You can do this using a double boiler or by placing the jar in a bowl of warm water.
Once melted, add the essential oil to the tallow and stir well until fully incorporated.

4. Mix everything together
Slowly pour the melted tallow mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir until everything is evenly combined and forms a soft, nourishing scrub.

Transfer the scrub to a clean, airtight container.

How to Use Lavender Tallow Face Scrub

Notes:
- This scrub will last 6–12 months when stored properly.

- Always use dry hands or a scoop to prevent introducing water into the container, which can shorten the shelf life.
