If you love making natural skincare products at home, you are going to be obsessed with this homemade dandelion soap 🤍 It’s beautiful, beginner friendly, smells amazing, and honestly looks like something from a little handmade soap boutique.
I love making these soap bars during spring and summer when dandelions are blooming everywhere.

They add such a pretty botanical touch while making the soap feel extra special and earthy. Plus this recipe is super easy because it uses a melt and pour soap base, so you don’t have to work with lye.
Homemade Dandelion Soap Recipe
These DIY dandelion soap bars also make the cutest homemade gifts for friends, birthdays, baskets, or self care boxes.
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb melt and pour soap base
- Dandelion flowers
- 25 drops essential oil of choice
- 1 tablespoon dandelion infused oil (see instructions below)
- Carrier oil (Olive oil, sweet almond oil, or jojoba oil)

How to Make Dandelion Soap
1. Cut the Soap Base
Begin by cutting your melt and pour soap base into small cubes. This helps the soap melt more evenly and quickly.

2. Melt the Soap Base
Place the soap cubes into a double boiler and gently melt over low heat until fully smooth.
3. Infuse with Dandelion Flowers
Once melted, add in your dandelion flowers and let them infuse in the warm soap for about 30 minutes.

4. Strain the Dandelions
After infusing, strain out the dandelion flowers. Return the soap base to the double boiler if needed to keep it fully melted.

5. Mix the Oils
In a small bowl, combine your essential oils with the dandelion infused oil and stir well.
To make your dandelion infused oil: Add dried dandelions and oil (Olive oil, sweet almond oil, or jojoba oil) to a double boiler. Warm on very low heat for 1–2 hours. Strain the flowers out

6. Add the Oil Mixture
Pour the oil mixture into the melted soap base and mix thoroughly until everything is evenly combined.

7. Pour Into Silicone Molds
Carefully pour the soap into silicone molds and smooth the tops if needed.

8. Allow the Soap to Harden
Let the soap fully harden at room temperature before removing from the molds.

Notes:
- Make sure your dandelions are fully dried to prevent moisture in the soap.
- Gentle essential oils like lavender, lemon, or chamomile work especially well in this recipe.
