This website is called She Needs Coffee for a reason. I love coffee, so of course I ended up putting it in soap.
The coffee adds a light scrub, the soap base keeps it gentle, and the whole soap comes together in just a few minutes. It’s one of those DIYs you make once and then keep remaking because it just works.
There’s something so comforting about coffee not just in a mug, but in your skincare too.
Here’s a simple coffee soap I like to make.

This recipe is perfect if you’re new to soap making or just want a quick handmade soap using what you already have at home.
This batch made 4 bar soaps, but it also depends on your mold size.
Coffee Soap Recipe
Ingredients
- 15 drops essential oils
- 5 ounces shea butter melt and pour soap base
- 2 tablespoons ground coffee

Instructions:
1. Cut the Soap Base
Cut the shea butter melt and pour soap base into small squares. This helps it melt evenly and prevents overheating.

Want to save this for later?
2. Melt the Soap Base
Melt the soap base in a double boiler over low heat, stirring occasionally until fully melted and smooth.
3. Add the Coffee
Once melted, stir in the ground coffee until evenly distributed throughout the soap base.

4. Add Essential Oils
Add 15 drops of essential oils and stir well to fully combine.

5. Pour and Let Set
Pour the mixture into your soap mold and allow it to cool and harden completely before unmolding.

Notes
- Any melt and pour soap base will work with this recipe.
- Any essential oils work use your favorites or what you already have on hand.
