These lavender shower steamers have become part of my night routine.
They’re not loud or overpowering just a soft, herbal lavender scent that fills the shower and instantly makes everything feel quieter. No scrolling, no thinking about tomorrow. Just steam, warmth, and that “okay, we’re done for the day” feeling.
These lavender shower steamers turn a normal shower into a wind-down ritual, which honestly helps my brain switch gears way more than I expected.

Why Lavender Shower Steamers at Night?
Lavender is known for being calming, but what I really love is how smell + steam works together. You don’t have to soak in a bath or do anything extra just let the steam carry the scent while you breathe it in.
Lavender Shower Steamers Recipe
This recipe makes around 6 shower steamers.
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons dried lavender flowers
- 1/2 cup Epsom salts
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 1 tablespoon water
- 16 drops lavender essential oil
- Silicone mold

Instructions:
1. Mix the dry base
In a bowl, combine the Epsom salts and baking soda until fully mixed. This is the base that creates the gentle fizz in the shower.

2. Prep the lavender
Grind most of the dried lavender flowers into a fine powder. Leave a small amount whole to place at the bottom of the molds for a pretty finish.

3. Mix in essential oils
Add the lavender essential oil and stir really well so the scent is distributed throughout.

3. Add lavender powder
Stir the lavender powder into your dry mixture until everything looks evenly combined.

5. Add mica powder (optional)
If you’re using mica powder for color, add a small pinch at a time and mix until you get the shade you want. A little goes a long way, so start light and build up.

4. Add water slowly
Drizzle the water in little by little while stirring continuously. You’re looking for a texture like slightly damp sand it should hold together when pressed but not feel wet.

5. Fill the molds
Place a few whole lavender flowers at the bottom of each silicone mold.

Then firmly pack the mixture on top, pressing it down so it holds its shape.

6. Let them dry
Allow the shower steamers to dry and harden for 24 hours, then gently remove them from the molds.

How to Use Lavender Shower Steamers:
Place one shower steamer on the floor of your shower, away from the direct stream of water. Let the steam activate it while you shower.

Notes:
- These are for shower use only, not for baths or skin application.
- Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place to prevent moisture exposure.
- If the mixture feels too dry, add a few drops of water; if too wet, sprinkle in a bit more baking soda.
This is one of those DIYs that’s less about the product and more about the feeling it creates. Calm, quiet, and intentional. And sometimes, that’s exactly what we need.
