I wasn’t planning to jump on the fall train just yet, but the second I started seeing pumpkins at the store, I felt inclined to start. I had some melt and pour soap base, a few essential oils, and not much patience for anything too complicated, so this pumpkin spice soap felt like the perfect low-effort weekend project.

It’s easy, quick, and smells like fall without being overpowering or fake. Plus, it gave me something cute and seasonal to put in the bathroom. If you’ve got about 20 minutes and a soap mold, you can make this. No fancy skills needed.

This recipe made two bars of soap using my mold, It’s beginner-friendly and will make your bathroom smell delicious.

Pumpkin Spice Soap Recipe

Ingredients:

Instructions:

1. Chop Up Your Soap Base

Start by cutting your melt and pour soap base into little cubes. This just helps it melt faster and more evenly.

2. Melt It Down Gently

Put the cubes into a heat-safe glass bowl and melt them slowly using a double boiler. (The double boiler gives you more control and helps avoid burning the soap.)

Send it to yourself now and try it out when you’re ready!

3. Mix in the Pumpkin Powder

Once melted, stir in the pumpkin powder. You’ll want to keep stirring until all the little clumps disappear. It takes a minute, but it’s worth it.

4. Add Your Essential Oils

I used a little mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and ginger essential oils to give it that true pumpkin spice vibe. If you have a pre-made pumpkin spice blend, go for it! use about 10–15 drops.

5. Pour and Let It Set

Pour the mixture into your mold, then leave it to harden overnight. The next morning, just pop it out.

Notes:

  • If you’re not a fan of essential oils or just don’t have any on hand, you can skip them but they really do help give the soap that cozy fall smell.
  • I used a clear melt and pour base so the color would show better, but any base will work.
  • Without the mica powder, the soap will be more of a dark yellow from the pumpkin powder. Still cute, just a little more “harvest” and a little less “bright orange.”

This made 2 soaps if using the same mold.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin powder
  • 2.5 ounces glycerin melt and pour soap base
  • 10-15 drops essential oils
  • Orange mica powder optional
  • Soap mold

Instructions

  • Cut up the melt and pour soap base into small squares.
  • Add to a glass bowl and melt slowly on a double broiler.
  • Add in the pumpkin powder and stir until all chunks are gone.
  • Add in your drops of essential oils. Then pour them into a silicone mold.

Notes

  • Essential oils are optional, but help create the smell. Sometimes there are pumpkin spice essential oils you can use, otherwise, a blend on cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and ginger can create a nice fall smell.
  • Any melt and pour soap base will work, but the clear ones helps you see the color the best.
  • Without an orange mica powder, this will be a darker yellow color with the pumpkin powder.
