If you’re looking for a homemade natural conditioner that leaves your hair feeling soft and shiny, this recipe is all you need!

I’ve been using natural shampoo and conditioner for a while now, and I swear it has completely changed my hair.

I just took this photo of my hair while writing this, LITERALLY. It’s long and strong, and I think a big part of that is all the conditioning and natural products I use.

And trust me, my hair hasn’t always been this healthy. I used to put it through all kinds of bad treatments and color experiments. But ever since I switched to more nourishing, natural ingredients, it has recovered almost completely.

So, if you’re ready to give your hair some love with a conditioner that’s free from synthetics and packed with natural ingredients, this recipe is for you!

Homemade Natural Conditioner Recipe

This recipe makes around 12 ounces.

Ingredients

Instructions

1. Melt the Oils

In a double boiler (or a heat-safe bowl over a pot of simmering water), melt the shea butter and coconut oil together. Stir occasionally until fully melted.

2. Prep the Argan Oil

While your oils are melting, mix the rosemary and lavender essential oils into the argan oil. This helps distribute the essential oils evenly when added to the mixture.

Send it to yourself now and try it out when you’re ready!

3. Combine and Cool

Once the shea butter and coconut oil are melted, remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes. Then, add in the argan oil mixture and stir well to combine.

4. Pour and Store

Transfer your conditioner into a bottle or jar. Let it cool completely before using.

Notes:

  • Rosemary and lavender essential oils are amazing for hair growth, but you can swap them out for other oils you love.
  • If you live in a cold climate, this conditioner will harden—just scoop some out and warm it between your hands before applying. In warm areas, it might stay more liquid. If you prefer a lighter consistency, use fractionated coconut oil instead.

Making the Switch to Natural Conditioner

I won’t lie, the transition to homemade conditioner and hair products can take a little getting used to. But honestly, it’s way easier than switching to homemade shampoo. Regular conditioners often have super strong perfumes (some don’t even work that well!), but this one only has real, nourishing ingredients that actually help your hair.

Give it a try, I think you’ll love it!
