Have you ever tried making your own tallow sugar scrub at home? I promise, it’s easier than you might think! This DIY tallow sugar scrub is not only super moisturizing but also a life changer for soft, smooth skin. Plus, it’s free from all those toxic ingredients you can’t even pronounce.
Whipped Tallow Sugar Scrub Recipe
Ingredients
- ½ cup rendered tallow
- 1/8 cup jojoba oil (or any carrier oil you love!)
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 20 drops of your favorite essential oils

Instructions:
1. Melt the Tallow
First, you’ll need to melt the tallow. I like to do this in a glass jar using a double boiler for gentle heating. But if you’re in a hurry or don’t have a double boiler, the microwave works too! Just go slow and keep an eye on it.
2. Add Jojoba Oil:
Once the tallow is completely melted, stir in the jojoba oil. It blends right in and adds an extra touch of luxury to the mix.

3. Cool and Whip:
Next, pour the mixture into a bowl and let it cool until it hardens. Once solid, grab your blender and whip it up! This step gives the scrub that fluffy, dreamy consistency that feels so indulgent.

4. Add Essential Oils:
Add about 20 drops of your favorite scent. I personally love lavender or a mix of orange and vanilla for a spa-like vibe. (this step is optional)

5. Fold in Sugar:
Finally, fold in the sugar. You’ll want to do this gently to keep that whipped texture. And that’s it! You’ve got yourself a tallow sugar scrub.

Store and Enjoy:
Transfer the scrub to airtight jars and use as needed for soft, smooth skin!

A Few Notes:
- Don’t stress if you don’t have jojoba oil. Almond, or even olive oil—will work.
- This recipe makes about 14 ounces.
I’ve been using this scrub a couple of times a week, and my skin has never felt softer. Plus, there’s something so satisfying about knowing exactly what’s in the products you’re using.
