If you’re anything like me, you probably love when your DIY lip balms actually smell good enough to eat. This Sugar Cookie Lip Balm hits all the right notes sweet, buttery vanilla with a cozy hint of cinnamon and orange. It smells just like a fresh batch of sugar cookies coming out of the oven.
This recipe is easy to make, uses natural ingredients, and leaves your lips feeling soft, and hydrated.

Sugar Cookie Lip Balm Recipe:
This lip balm smells like a holiday bakery and keeps your lips soft through cold weather. It’s also a thoughtful handmade gift tie a ribbon around a few tubes and pop them into stockings or small jars for an easy DIY present.
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons carrier oil
- 2 tablespoons beeswax
- 1 ½ tablespoon coconut oil
- 3 drops vanilla essential
- 2 drops sweet orange essential oil
- 1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- Lip balm tubes

1. Melt Your Base
In a double boiler, combine beeswax, carrier oil, coconut oil, and ground cinnamon. Heat gently, stirring occasionally until everything is fully melted and smooth. The cinnamon gives this balm a beautiful warm tint plus, it smells amazing while it melts.


2. Cool and Blend
Once melted, remove from heat and let it cool slightly. You want it warm but not hot this helps preserve the benefits and scent of your essential oils.

Stir in vanilla and sweet orange essential oils, giving your balm that classic sugar cookie aroma.
3. Pour and Set
Carefully pour your mixture into lip balm tubes or small tins. Let them sit undisturbed for 1–2 hours until solid.





Notes & Tips
- You can strain out the cinnamon if you prefer a smoother balm, but I like leaving it for a touch of color and a subtle shimmer.
- Try using sweet almond oil or jojoba oil as your carrier for a silky texture.
- Add a drop of vitamin E oil for extra nourishment and shelf life.

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons carrier oil
- 2 tablespoons beeswax
- 1 ½ tablespoon coconut oil
- 3 drops vanilla essential
- 2 drops sweet orange essential oil
- ½ tablespoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a double boiler, melt the beeswax, carrier oil, coconut oil, and ground cinnamon together until fully liquefied. Stir occasionally to keep the cinnamon from clumping.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly, just enough so it won’t damage the essential oils.
- Stir in the vanilla essential oil and sweet orange essential oil until well blended.
- Pour into lip balm tubes or small tins. Let sit undisturbed until solid, about 1–2 hours.
Notes
- You can strain out the cinnamon, but it helps give it a nice color.
