This post is all about how to make beautiful all natural herbal rosehip soap at home.
Jump to RecipeIf you love soft, glowy skin and pretty handmade soaps that look like they came from a little boutique… this one is for you.
This rosehip soap is creamy, gently exfoliating, and has that subtle natural pink tone from clay that just makes your bathroom feel elevated . And the best part? It’s melt & pour, so it’s beginner-friendly and low stress.
This recipe makes about 4 soaps using a standard silicone mold.

DIY Rosehip Soap
Ingredients:
- 1/2 lb goat milk melt & pour soap base
- 1/2 tablespoon pink clay
- 1 tablespoon dried rosehips, finely crushed
- 15 drops essential oils (optional)
- Silicone mold

Instructions:
1. Prep Your Base
Cut the goat milk melt & pour soap base into small cubes. Smaller pieces melt more evenly and faster (patience is not required here

2. Melt Gently
Melt using a double boiler or microwave in 20–30 second bursts. Stir between each round.
You don’t want it boiling just fully melted and smooth.
3. Add Essential Oils (Optional)
Once melted, add your essential oils and mix well.
Lavender, geranium, or even a tiny bit of rose absolute would be beautiful here. Or skip it if you love the natural creamy scent of goat milk.

Want to save this for later?
4. Mix in the Pink Clay
Stir in the pink clay until fully combined.

5. Add the Rosehips
Add most of the finely crushed rosehips and stir gently.

Crushing them finely keeps the exfoliation soft and not scratchy. You want glow, not sandpaper.
6. Pour Into Molds
Carefully pour the mixture into 4 mold cavities.

Try to pour slowly to avoid bubbles.
Sprinkle some extra crushed rosehips on top to create that beautiful botanical look.
7. Let It Set & Unmold
Let the soap harden completely about 2–4 hours or overnight. Once fully set, gently remove from the silicone mold.
And just like that… you made your own rose hip soap.

Notes
- Crushing rosehips finely keeps exfoliation gentle and skin-friendly.
- For a smoother bar, sprinkle rosehips only on top instead of mixing throughout.
- Wrap finished bars in parchment or plastic wrap to prevent sweating.
There’s something about rose goat milk that feels soft, feminine, and calming. It’s such a sweet little self-care upgrade and honestly? These make beautiful gifts too.
If you try this recipe, tell me what essential oil combo you use. I’m always experimenting..
