Let me tell you about one of my favorite self-care rituals: making a Lavender Clay Mask. It’s soothing, smells amazing, and leaves your skin feeling refreshed. Plus, it’s super easy to whip up.
Bentonite Clay Mask Benefits
If you’re wondering about the benefits of bentonite clay beyond treating yourself to a luxurious at-home spa experience, here are a few of my favorites.
1. Deep Cleansing
Clay has natural absorbent properties that help draw out dirt, oil, and impurities from your pores. It’s like a detox for your skin, leaving it clean and refreshed.
2. Oil Control
If you have oily or combination skin, clay masks are your best friend! They help balance excess oil production without stripping your skin of its natural moisture.
3. Gentle Exfoliation
Clay has a soft, grainy texture that provides mild exfoliation, removing dead skin cells and promoting a smoother, more radiant complexion.
4. Soothes and Calms
Lavender and Purple Brazilian Clay are especially soothing. They help reduce redness, irritation, and inflammation, making this mask ideal for sensitive or acne-prone skin.
5. Boosts Circulation
As the mask dries, it stimulates blood flow to your skin’s surface. This can result in a healthy, natural glow once you rinse it off.
6. Hydration Boost
While clay is often associated with oil control, the addition of jojoba oil and lavender water ensures your skin stays hydrated and soft, giving you the best of both worlds.
7. Aromatherapy Benefits
Thanks to the lavender flowers and essential oil, this mask doesn’t just work for your skin—it’s also incredibly relaxing for your mind. Lavender’s calming scent can help reduce stress and promote a sense of well-being.
8. Antioxidant Protection
Purple Brazilian Clay is rich in minerals like magnesium and calcium, which can help protect your skin from environmental damage while keeping it nourished.
Whether you’re looking to refresh your skin, unwind after a long day, or prep for a special occasion, a bentonite clay mask like this one is a fantastic addition to your skincare routine. 💜
I’m not a doctor, so definitely do your own research — this recipe is just here for inspiration!
Here’s how I make this bentonite clay mask!
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons of Purple Brazilian Clay
- A handful of dried lavender flowers
- Water (hot water for steeping)
- 2 tablespoons of lavender water
- ½ tablespoon of jojoba oil
- 2 drops of your favorite essential oil (optional, I like to use lavender or tea tree!)
Instructions
1. Start with the lavender infusion.
Grab a small jar and toss in a handful of lavender flowers. Pour hot water over them until they’re just covered. Let them steep for about 10 minutes, this is where the magic happens. Once that’s done, strain out the flowers and let the lavender-infused water cool.
2. Mix the oils.
If you’re using essential oils, add two drops to the jojoba oil. Give it a little stir, it’s like prepping the VIPs of this mask!
3. Combine everything.
In a bowl, add the Purple Brazilian Clay first (it’s such a stunning color, isn’t it?). Pour in the jojoba oil mixture and give it a quick mix.
Then, slowly add the lavender water, stirring as you go. Keep mixing until you’ve got a smooth, creamy paste.
4. Use it right away.
This mask is best fresh! It doesn’t keep well, so don’t wait too long to enjoy it.
How to Use It
Spread the mask evenly on your face, avoiding your eyes and mouth. Sit back, relax, and let it work its magic for about 10 minutes. Once it’s dry, rinse it off with warm water and pat your skin dry.
Notes
- The essential oils are totally optional, so feel free to skip them if you prefer.
- Since this mask doesn’t store well, invite a friend over for a mini spa session or use any extra on your neck and hands.
And there you have it, your very own lavender clay mask! It’s such a treat for your skin, and honestly, it’s one of my favorite ways to unwind. Let me know if you try it out! 🌸
