Valentine’s Day always sneaks up on me, and every year I promise myself I’ll keep it simple with something cozy, meaningful, and made with love instead of rushing to buy things last minute.
This year, I’m making this DIY Valentine’s Day Candle.
There’s something really grounding about melting wax, blending scents, and creating something beautiful for someone you love.

Valentines Day Candle:
This candle is warm, romantic, and easy enough to make on a quiet afternoon with a cup of coffee and your favorite playlist playing in the background.
This recipe made a candle in a 2 cup jar.
Ingredients
- 2 cups soy wax flakes
- 1 1/2-2 teaspoons essential oil
- Candle dye (red & pink)
- Candle wick
- Glass candle jar (I used one similar to this size)
- Silicone mini flower mold

Instructions
1. Melt the wax
Melt all 2 cups of soy wax using a double boiler or heat-safe pouring pitcher. Once fully melted, remove from heat.

2. Add color
Add your candle dye (red, pink, or both) and stir well until the color is evenly distributed.

3. Scent & pour
Let the wax cool slightly, then add your essential oils and stir gently.
Want to save this for later?

Place the wick in your glass jar, then carefully pour the wax into the jar. Allow it to begin cooling.

4. Create the floral topping
While the candle is cooling, pour some of the remaining wax into your mini flower molds.
Allow them to harden, then place them on top of the candle. If they need help staying in place, add a little warm melted wax underneath to secure them.

Once fully set, trim the wick to 1/4 inch before the first use.
