Sometimes you just need a cozy and foamy vanilla latte to feel like a functioning adult. Whether it’s a chilly morning, an afternoon slump, or a random Tuesday when your to-do list feels a little too long, this easy vanilla latte recipe is here to save the day.
I make this one at home all the time. My husband says it smells like a cafe in here when I’m making it and honestly, I kind of love that. It takes about 5 minutes, uses simple ingredients, and it’s way cheaper (and cuter) than going to the drive-thru.

Every time I tell people about my blog, they think I write all about coffee? and that is fair. With a name like She Needs Coffee, it totally makes sense 😂. I do love coffee that’s not up for debate. So I figured, why not actually start sharing some delicious coffee recipes here? Starting with this one: a super easy, cozy vanilla latte.
If you love coffee and vanilla, this one’s for you.
Vanilla Latte Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups milk (any kind you like I usually use oat milk)
- 2 tbsp vanilla syrup
- 2 espresso shots (or strong brewed coffee if you don’t have an espresso machine)
- Whipped cream (because yes) optional.

Instructions:
1. Heat the Milk
Start by heating up your milk in the microwave for about 2 minutes. You want it hot but not boiling.
If your frother heats the milk too, then you can skip this step.
2. Froth the Milk
Use a milk frother to make it nice and foamy it should double in size and look super dreamy. If you don’t have one, you can use one of those little hand frothers (they’re cheap on Amazon).

3. Make the Espresso
Make your espresso shots. I use my Nespresso machine, but strong brewed coffee works too.
Want to save this for later?

4. Mix the Espresso and Vanilla
In your favorite mug add the two espresso shots and vanilla syrup. Give it a little stir.

5. Pour the Milk
Gently pour the hot milk into the mug, but hold back the foam with a spoon so you can save it for later.

6. Top with Foam
Now spoon add the foam right on top. It’s what makes this feel fancy.

7. Add Whipped Cream (optional)
Finish it all off with a swirl of whipped cream. Optional… but highly recommended.

I swear, once you make this at home, you’ll start skipping the coffee shop more often. It’s simple, cozy, and just hits the spot every single time. Plus, you can customize it with cinnamon, the syrup, or with iced.
Let me know if you try it.
