Okay, so if your skin’s been feeling a little “meh” lately like in need of a reset, this bentonite clay mask is such a good one to try. I like making homemade bentonite clay masks, I’ve been using them whenever my face starts acting up or needs a little extra love, and they never let me down. I just got a packet of different clays, so I’ve been trying out new recipes each time. It’s simple, gentle, and basically gives your pores a fresh start. Plus, I make them with just three ingredients.

Basic Bentonite Clay Mask Recipe
Here is how I made this simple DIY bentonite clay face mask.
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp bentonite clay
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 drop of essential oil (I love tea tree or lavender but this is optional)
- Silicone mold (also optional, just makes it easier to store if you’re making ahead or want a cute shape!)

Instructions:
1. Mix It All Together
In a small non-metal bowl (clay doesn’t play well with metal), add your bentonite clay and apple cider vinegar. It’ll fizz a little at first is totally fine, that’s just the vinegar doing its thing. Stir it gently until you get a smooth, spreadable paste.
For masks, I always like to use ceramic bowls or glass plates

2. Add Essential Oils (Optional)
If you’re adding a drop of essential oil, go ahead and add that in now. Give it one more little stir. You’re done!
Since you’re putting this mask on your face, you definitely don’t want to use more than one drop of essential oil. A little goes a long way!

How to Use Homemade Bentonite Clay Mask:
Scoop up the mixture and apply a thin, even layer to your clean face. I like to avoid the sensitive under-eye area and just focus on my cheeks, T-zone, and chin.
let it sit for about 5 to 10 minutes, or until it feels dry and tight (you’ll know). Don’t leave it on too long or it can get a little too drying.
Rinse it off with warm water and pat your face dry. I usually follow up with a light moisturizer or face toner.

Notes:
- This makes enough for 1 to 2 masks, depending on how much you apply.
- Use right away, since it doesn’t store well once mixed.
- If you’re using a silicone mold, you can pour the mixture in, let it set, and pop it out when you’re ready to use. Super cute if you’re doing a little spa night or gifting!
