What is a Simmer Pot:

You probably already know the answer to this, but in case you don’t. A simmer pot is a simple and natural way to make your home smell amazing without using synthetic air fresheners or toxic candles. You fill a pot with water and add certain ingredients like herbs, spices, fruits, essential oils, and extracts, then let it simmer on the stove while it release the scents into the air.

2. Add the Lemon, Rosemary, and Cinnamon to the Pot

Place the lemon slices into a pot, followed by the rosemary sprigs and cinnamon sticks. These ingredients complement each other beautifully. The herbal, earthy rosemary pairs perfectly with the warm spicy cinnamon, while the lemon brings in a bright, clean scent.

3. Pour in the Vanilla

Add one tablespoon of vanilla extract to the pot. The vanilla will add a sweet undertone that balances the sharper, citrusy notes of the lemon and the spiciness of the cinnamon.

4. Fill the Pot with Water

Now, fill the pot with water, just enough to cover your ingredients.

5. Let It Simmer

Turn on low on the stove and enjoy the fresh smell! As the mixture warms up, the aroma will begin to fill your kitchen. DON’T FORGET to check on it every hour or so, adding more water if needed.

Notes:

  • You can add or take away anything. Florals and other herbs will smell good too!
  • This will last for 2 or 3 times. Simply add more water and enjoy.
