Let’s talk skincare for a second, specifically, how amazing it is when you find something that makes your skin feel so good, but it’s also made with ingredients you can actually pronounce and trust.

If you’ve ever been on the hunt for a super gentle, natural scrub for your face and body, then you know it can be a challenge to find one that’s not too harsh or packed with a bunch of unknown chemicals.

If you’re like me and love using natural ingredients for your skincare routine, you’ll really love this DIY oatmeal scrub! It’s super gentle, effective, and perfect for both your face and body. Plus, it’s so simple to make!

Oatmeal Scrub Recipe

I love to use oatmeal in my recipes because it has this magical ability to soothe and soften skin, while the sugar gently exfoliates without stripping moisture. Plus, you can make this recipe in just a few minutes with ingredients you probably already have at home.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup carrier oil (I used almond oil)
  • 10 drops essential oil (optional)

Instructions

1. Add Essential Oils to Carrier Oil

First, grab your favorite carrier oil (I used almond oil for its nourishing benefits) and add the essential oils. Stir them together well.

Essential oils are OPTIONAL. If you have sensitive skin, it’s totally okay to skip the essential oils.

2. Grind the Oats

Now, take your oats and grind them into a fine powder. I recommend using a food processor or blender, but if you don’t have one, you can always use pre-ground oatmeal or colloidal oatmeal. The finer the powder, the gentler it will feel on your skin.

3. Mix Everything Together

Next, add the ground oats to your carrier oil mixture. Then, stir in the sugar. This creates the perfect scrub texture, scrubby, yet gentle enough to use on sensitive skin.

4. Store in a Glass Jar

Once everything is well combined, transfer your oatmeal scrub into a glass jar. I love using a cute little jar to store it, it feels more like a treat!

Notes:

  • Essential oils are optional. You can skip them if you prefer a more neutral scent or if you have sensitive skin.
  • Any carrier oil will work. I used almond oil because it’s super moisturizing, but you can use coconut, jojoba, or any other oil you like.
  • You can also use colloidal oatmeal if you don’t want to grind oats yourself. It’s just as effective and still super soothing for your skin.

This DIY scrub is a great way to exfoliate gently and naturally, and it’s perfect for treating dry skin. I hope you enjoy making it as much as I did!
