I was looking up skincare tips and recipes (maybe a little too much 😉), and I kept seeing people talk about how amazing cinnamon sugar scrubs are. They all said it makes your skin super smooth and glowing, so I thought, why not try it? I don’t really like buying sugar scrubs because it’s hard to find ones that are all-natural and clean, so I made my own instead.

This cinnamon sugar scrub is super easy to make with ingredients you probably already have in your pantry. There’s something so satisfying about making your own skincare products, you know exactly what’s going into them, and they feel better than store-bought scrubs.

Whether you’re treating yourself to a little self-care or making a cute DIY gift for a friend, this recipe is always a winner!

If you love warm, cozy scents and a little DIY self-care, you’re going to love this Cinnamon Sugar Scrub. It’s like fall in a jar, sweet, a little spicy, and super effective at exfoliating dry skin.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar – I used white sugar, but brown sugar works too.
  • 1/2 cup carrier oil – Any oil you love! I used avocado oil.
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder – Smells amazing and has some natural skin-boosting benefits.)
  • 15 drops essential oil (optional) – Vanilla pairs beautifully, but use whatever you like.
  • Glass container

Instructions:

1. Prep the Oil

Add your drops of essential oil to your carrier oil and give it a little mix. This helps the scent blend evenly.

2. Mix the Dry Ingredients

Combine the cinnamon powder and sugar in a bowl. Stir well so the cinnamon is evenly distributed.

3. Bring It All Together

Pour the oil mixture into the sugar and stir until everything is well combined. It should have a soft, grainy texture, not too oily, not too dry.

Notes:

  • I love avocado oil because it’s nourishing, but coconut oil, almond oil, or even jojoba oil work great.
  • While you can use cinnamon essential oil, be careful, as it is a powerful and hot oil. Consider using vanilla or another oil.
  • Storage tip: Keep your scrub in a sealed glass jar and use within a few weeks for best results.

How to Use Homemade Cinnamon Sugar Scrub:

Scoop out a small amount and gently massage onto damp skin in circular motions. Rinse with warm water and enjoy ridiculously soft, smooth skin. Just be careful—oils can make the shower a little slippery!

This scrub makes a perfect gift, too. Just tie a little ribbon around the jar, add a label, and you’ve got a thoughtful handmade treat.

Enjoy!
