This Lavender simmer pot recipe is one of my favorites when I need something soothing in the background while I’m cleaning, reading, or just existing in peace. Lavender and rosemary create this gentle, spa-like vibe, and the lemon adds a clean brightness that makes everything feel freshly washed. Add some white flowers, and it’s basically a mini garden in a pot.

This morning, I was in one of those moods after being away from home for a while, everything felt chaotic. My house was a mess, my to-do list was giving me side-eye, and everything still smelled like last night’s dinner. I had zero motivation to clean, but I did want my house to feel a little more put together, so I started with this lavender simmer pot.

I went to the grocery store and picked out the cutest little pot I could find, then came home, threw in whatever I had on hand, and turned the heat on low. Within minutes, my home smelled amazing.

If you’re feeling the same way, here’s the recipe to bring a little calm and cozy into your home.

Lavender Simmer Pot Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • A few sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • A small handful of lavender buds
  • A few white flowers (optional but pretty)
  • A cute heat-resistant bowl or small pot
  • Water
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract (optional)
  • A few drops of essential oil (lavender, lemon, or rosemary all work beautifully) (optional)

Instructions:

1. Add Your Ingredients

Place the lemon slices, rosemary sprigs, lavender buds, and optional flowers into your heat-resistant bowl or small pot.

Lavender and rosemary both offer great benefits when used in a simmer pot. Lavender is known for its calming properties, helping to reduce stress, promote relaxation, and improve sleep quality, while also purifying the air with its antibacterial and antiviral effects.

Rosemary, on the other hand, enhances mental clarity and focus, can support respiratory health, and reduce stress. Together, these herbs create a soothing, refreshing atmosphere that not only smells amazing but also promotes a peaceful, balanced environment in your home.

2. Add Water

Pour in just enough water to cover all the ingredients. You don’t need to fill the whole pot, just enough to let everything float and infuse.

3. Simmer Gently

Put the pot on your stovetop and bring it to a gentle simmer over low heat. Within minutes, your space will be filled with a soft, relaxing floral aroma.

As the water evaporates, just top it off to keep the scent going. You can leave it simmering as long as you’re home and keeping an eye on it.

4. Store and Reuse

You can reuse this simmer pot for another day or two. Just let it cool, pop it in the fridge, and reheat when you’re ready for more.

This little ritual is the easiest way to make your home feel more peaceful, cozy, and welcoming with almost zero effort. Put on some soft music, and let the lavender simmer pot do its thing.
