You know weekends around here are all about cleaning and organizing, so here is my degreaser cleaning spray recipe, the first DIY I ever made and still use weekly.
If you’re new to making your own cleaning products, this kitchen degreaser spray is the one I always recommend starting with. It’s super easy, super cheap, and it actually works. I still use this degreaser spray in my kitchen, and I started making it a while ago when I was just beginning my switch to non-toxic products.
You can mix it with the Natural homemade oven cleaner paste (Works Every Time!).

This recipe makes one 16 oz spray bottle. It’s perfect for greasy countertops, stovetops, oven and splattered cabinets.
Kitchen Degreaser Spray Recipe:
Ingredients
You probably already have most of these ingredients at home or can easily get them at any supermarket.
- Spray bottle
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1 tsp liquid castile soap
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- Water
- 20 drops essential oils (optional but citrus works great)

Instructions:
1. Add the Essential Oils
Add your essential oils to the liquid Castile soap and give it a quick stir. This helps the oils blend in a bit better. I love using orange, lemon, or grapefruit.
Want to save this for later?

2. Mix the Ingredients
In a small bowl or cup, mix the baking soda with a bit of water until it dissolves. Then add in your Castile soap mix and the vinegar. It will bubble for a bit and then go down.

3. Pour and Shake
Transfer everything into your spray bottle, then top it off with water. Give it a little shake before each use

How to Use Your Homemade Degreaser Spray
Spray it generously on your greasy spots, let it sit for a minute or two (it really does make a difference), then wipe away with a cloth or paper towel. That’s it. You’ll be amazed at how clean your stove looks afterward.
Notes:
- Essential oils are optional, but citrus ones work great!
